Two big Anniversaries come up in the first two weeks of September each year from here on out.  September 11th, 2012 marked the 11th Anniversary of the most dastardly and deceptive false-flag, inside-job attack in American history, and September 17th, 2012 maked the 1st Anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street Movement.

Activists and visionaries on the blogosphere and social networks get exceptionally fired up about exposing the ongoing coverup of what really happened on 9/11 and the disgusting police state crackdown on dissent that has plagued America since the Occupy Movement first showed up a year ago.  If Police Departments and Federal Agencies hadn't violently evicted occupations shortly after they showed up, a growing legion of occupiers would still be on the scene across the continent and around the world, and our world would be a more aware and rapidly changing place.  Instead, we now see the crackdown on dissent and activism blatantly rearing up in cyberspace.

9/11/01: NEVER FORGET THE MOST BLATANT TREASON IN HISTORY.

This morning it was brought to my attention that many activists and groups timelines had been altered, eliminating all of their activity between August 30th and September 17th.  I immediately checked my profile (I generally share 20-30 links daily) and LOLed when I realized my profile had been tampered with too.  Here you can see a post from Tuesday, September 18th and the previous post is on a friend shared with me on August 31st: two and a half weeks earlier.  One hundred+ posts (many of them "commemorating" 9/11, supporting #OWS, rooting out corruption, and exposing truth) are just GONE.

And if you think this is in any way shape or form acceptable, heed the words of The Lorax in my first post this side of the purge...

In this Campaign of Occupation, it is crucial to stay healthy, well-rested, and comfortably peaceful.  As camps spring up around the world, we should strive to make them the safest and most accommodating communities we can envision: Prototypes for what will come after the Revolution succeeds.

When we come prepared for long term occupation, our encampments show that we mean business.  Also, creating a Welcoming Home is crucial to keeping occupiers warm, hydrated, well fed, and productive.

Inadequate equipment could limit the successes of the 99% Movement.

With adequate equipment, occupying will be easier and more enjoyable than the oppressive lifestyles we’ve dealt with since Infinite Growth Economics died and the corrupt commenced looting the collapsing global economic system.

Load up a backpack, put your crap in storage, quit paying rent, and hit the road to the nearest occupation.  You’ll make a bunch of new friends, learn a lot about everything, gather stories to tell your grand-kids, and Save the Friggin’ Planet.  You’ll also save a heck of a lot of money by living rent free and eating communally.

No job?  No problem... in fact, being "out of work" now is one step in our Path to Resolution.

Hopefully this list helps you get the right gear together.  Incidentally, all of these items would also be useful in the event of an ugly revolution or full-tilt civilizational COLLAPSE.  At this stage in the game, if Peaceful Occupation doesn’t force the changes we need, it’ll boil down to either one or the other.  It's just a matter of time, really...

Long Term Occupier Gear Checklist

(general list for all climates… please add suggestions in the comments.)

BASIC ESSENTIALS

*Sandals or Slippas for hot days and downtime

*Sporty (ideally “Trail Running”) Shoes

*Lots of SOCKS

*Durable, Comfortable, Layerable Clothes

*Wool Sweater… retains warmth when wet

*Rain Gear… a good rain coat or winter parka could come in really handy

*Down Jacket or Extra Sweater… look bigger while being warmer

*Sun Hat and Cold Weather Hat... also hides

*Scarf… useful in a variety of situations

*Sun Glasses… the goofier, the better

*Gas Mask… they’re cheap ($12), fun to play with, and you never know…

*Towel(s)

*Laundry Bag

*Duct Tape or Gorilla Tape… to fix holes in anything, hang signs, etc!

*Cordage/Rope… for hanging tarps, signs, etc.

*Tarps… you can’t possibly bring too many

*Tents… big cheapos are great in a warm climate but you’ll want a decent tent as winter sets in… you can always throw a tarp on top of a tent to make it more resilient.

*Sleeping Bag (ideally a Double Sleeping Bag) … you’re going to make lots of new friends: be ready to accommodate one.

*Foam Pads… or an even more comfortable experience invest in some affordable interlocking Anti-Fatigue Floor Mats which are also great for sleeping on

*Wool Blanket… retains heat, even when wet

*Sanitary, Durable Water Bottle… stainless steel is best because it doesn’t retain odors or flavors

*Spork and Bowl… communal cooking and meals is the name of the game for a low-hassle, long-term occupation

*Toothbrush… and Toothpaste

*Deodorant… (optional)

*BOOKS… in NYC is seems like the Camp Library is one of the coolest services being offered

*Headlamp… see in the dark!!!

*Foldable Solar Panel… you’ll make lots of friends if you can charge people’s gizmos.  Odds are businesses near your occupation won’t take too kindly to loitering Chargers.

*Headphones and/or Ear Plugs… useful while trying to sleep in a crowd or for a little “alone time” with your music.

*Trash Bags… useful for lots of things

*Large Backpack… a quality backpacking pack in dark/earthy colors is ideal

*Tote bags… aka reusable shopping bags, which are great for carrying lots of stuff

*Lots of food… contribute to the camp stockpile by bringing whatever you can.

*Large Cooler… great for sitting on and storing anything that needs to be dry and protected (or wet and frosty!)

*DELUXE: Crazy Creek Power Lounger Chair… sometimes a back rest feels really good, also doubles as a great sleeping pad

INDIVIDUAL MEDIA KIT

*Sign-making Tools… markers, paints, cardboard, poster board, posts, tape, etc.  "The thing about hand-written signs is that unless you go out of your way, they end up looking like the scrawl of the Unabomber."  --Jenna Orkin... MAKE QUALITY SIGNS!

*Laptop/TabletPC/SmartPhone/etc… Social Media is our best friend.  "World War Three will be a guerilla information war, with no division between military and civilian participation." -- Marshall McLuhan

*Camera… consider a durable, weatherproof, wearable, and pole mountable POV Camera.  Shoot hands free by wearing it on your head or mount it on a pole for hard to get shots like a group watching a speech or some confused cops walloping on your fellow occupiers.

*All the cords and accessories you’ll need to keep your personal media machine powered up and operating.

ENCAMPMENT ORGANIZERS

*Support and Storage Vehicles… for storing and transporting food, water, fuel, equipment, etc

*First Aid Kits

*Trash Cans… and trash bags

*Kitchen Equipment and Supplies… stoves, grills, propane tanks, pots, pans, utensils, buckets, scrubbers, dish soap, water tanks, coolers, etc.

*Portable Generator... Honda's are reliable, quiet, and buying one supports the struggling Japanese

*Small Solar/Wind Power Setup

*Portable High Speed WiFi System

*Portable toilets… or some sanitation system that works given your location

*Lots of food…

*Even more water… or at least a system to replenish water supplies to 5 gallon jugs, 55 gallon drums, etc.

*Legal Defense Specialists… look for disgruntled lawyers!  There are plenty out there.

*Social Networking Media Team...

*Medical Personnel...

In my current line of work, I am exposed to an absurd amount of news.  In an effort to keep those I care about informed, I post A LOT of interesting links on my Facebook wall.  It's more efficient than blogging, so I direct a lot of my efforts there.

If you'd like to know what's really going on in the world, you're not going to find it in the mainstream media.  Select mainstream stories give glimpses of the Big Picture but they're awash in misinformation, disinformation, and distracting nonsense.  I share 10-50 stories daily, selected from several reliable news services. By scanning my Wall regularly you may find information that could help you prepare for and cope with the big changes taking place at an unprecedented rate globally.  Inform yourself and ditch the sheeple herd.

Lay Off The Sauce and Spread Truth For Our Childrens' Sake

Imagine if back around 2005, Whistleblowing Revolutionaries forced George Bush to go on TV and say something like this:

"My fellow Americans, we are invading Iraq because we need more oil.

Our Nation's economy is entirely dependent upon cheap oil.  The fortunes of my constituency are also very, ha, heavily invested.

Increasing global demand coupled with global supply limitations makes this an unfortunate and inconvenient truth from here on out.

We Americans must work together to decrease our dependence on all oil, rebuild our economy utilizing unprecedented innovation, and continue leading the world forward in the new millenium.

But yeah, for right now, we're stuck in the role of global aggressor because of our ongoing failures to innovate, regulate, and above all else, our collective unwillingness to contemplate cooperatively."

But that speech was never given because leadership wasn't being held accountable by the 4th Pillar of Government: THE FREE PRESS.  

Our corrupt political establishment is annoyingly butt hurt by Julian Assange and WikiLeaks.  Loonies like Palin have gone so far as to label WikiLeaks a terrorist organization, as if Truth, Transparency, andTrust  somehow threaten actual democracy.

We, the People, are expected to believe that our government's ability to operate in total secrecy is crucial to our safety and well-being.  It sounds reasonable at first glance, but a little analysis proves that shady and dis-informed democracy is dangerous.  Recent history abounds with examples of governance gone horribly wrong because secrecy ruled the day.

Back in early 2001 -- just two weeks into his sketchily "elected" presidency -- George Bush created a secretive Energy Task Force.  VP Dick Cheney met privately over 40 times with Big Dogs from oil companies and corporate scheisters of Energy like the pension-stealing Ken Lay of ENRON.

Cheney and Company refused to comment publicly about what they were discussing, and after years of legal wrangling the topics are still shrouded in secrecy.  We do know, however, that they discussed oil, Iraqi oil, and impending global Peak Oil Production.

A few months later the Twin Towers fell, and the stage was set to invade Iraq under the false pretense of Operation "Iraqi Freedom".

If an organization like WikiLeaks had existed then, maybe the fraud of Bush's election would have been fully exposed to the Mainstream.

Maybe the secret agenda of that oil-thirsty, corporate-bought administration would have been obvious from the get go.

Maybe most Americans would have realized that we were invading Iraq and Afghanistan chiefly to secure another decade of cheap oil.

Maybe many Americans, armed with the Truth regarding WTF was actually going on, would have realized the seriousness of Peak Oil a decade earlier and started implementing pro-active innovations to prepare Our Nation for the Post-Peak Oil World.  Maybe more Americans would have realized that our only long-term salvation came by way of drastically different values, a selective shakedown, and massive investments in EDUCATION and (implemented) INNOVATION.

Had an organization like WikiLeaks existed, we'd have known just what Bush and Cheney were up to.  Then, perhaps, more Americans would have realized that our only long-term salvation came in drastically different values, a selective shakedown, and massive investments in EDUCATION and IMPLEMENTED INNOVATION.

But that never happened either.

So here America stands: heavily medicated, blackout drunk on oil, completely scatterbrained, and right on the verge of chaos.

What would it take to push us over the edge?  The loss of FREE SPEECH and OPEN COMMUNICATION NETWORKS would certainly do it.
